My hackles rise slightly
As my brow feathers move about in the breeze.
Did my perfect eyes just see you?
Yes, it is you! It is you!
My crest rises in joy
And I can feel the wind pulling at my primaries.
The breeze calls me by name.
It beckons me to dance
and come be by your side.
I want nothing more than that.
I fell my nares flushing at the thought.
You seem not to see me watching you
From my perch of cement and steel.
I twitch about on my railing
As I feel my talons tearing bits of paint away.
I can't take the suspense any longer!
I let out a screech and a sweet trill
As I leap from my perch with joy.
Straight to your side, your warm embrace.
I nuzzle your neck ruff
And preen you gently.
I truely belong beside you!
For our love is like the Phoenix.
Our love for each other shines brightly
Until the end of our days.
